Love That Dog
Sharon Creech wrote one of my favorite kid books called Love That Dog. I don't want to spoil it if you haven't read it (and you should), but at the end, the young narrator writes a poem that I think is appropriate today.
Love That Dog
(Inspired by Walter Dean Myers)
by Jack
Love that dog,
like a bird loves to fly
I said I love that dog
like a bird loves to fly
Love to call him in the morning
love to call him
"Hey there, Sky!"
I loved Caribou, and today we are heart-broken. Sometimes what's outside the fence is just too much to resist, I guess.
She always did love to run...

And run...

What a good friend...

What a love...

What a dog...

Goodnight, little black puppy.

I didn't bawl out loud. Just cried quietly...and with a smile on my face.

No visit to the Leebert/Lambert/Libbert household was complete unless you Cari sat one inch from you and quietly demanded you pet her unbelievably soft fur. She was a good pup.
