From my back window, I can see past the barn and fruit trees to the place where the new goat pen will be by the end of the weekend. It’s raining. I see Rob and our neighbor, David, digging fencepost holes with David’s tractor. It will make much shorter work of a project that was going to take Rob the entire weekend with a manual post hole digger.
David saw that we had put up temporary stakes and string to map out the fence line last weekend. He called to say that it looked like we were making a fence and he had a post hole digger on his tractor and would be happy to come knock it out for us any time.
In about 15 minutes, they were finished, and Rob is ready to set new posts.
I still remember when we first moved here. We were sound asleep on an early Sunday morning. It had snowed the night before, and we were planning on holing up for the day. I woke to the sound of a tractor and went to window to see David plowing our driveway so that we could get out.
It’s nice to have good neighbors. It’s nice to be reminded every once in while that the world is still full of really good people.
I hope that I can be one of them.
And speaking of good, Beth Berry of Revolution from Home posted this video today as part of her Feel Good Fridays series. I thought it was too good not to pass on.
