What 10 Things Are In Your Bag Right Now?
One purple spiral notebook with poetry, Christmas lists, and morning pages
A pair of gloves with a hole in one finger– for cold long runs
Expired grocery coupons
Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss
A Free Applebee’s Milkshake Certificate for Isaac’s Winning Pumpkin Book Character (we need to cash that one in soon)
Empty candy wrappers
Old-fashioned, dorky cell phone (according to my students)
A pair of turquoise bead earrings
A copy of Redbird, a collection of poems by Mary Oliver
*I started to not even post– for two reasons. One, this is dangerously close to some sort of psychoanalysis, and two, I didn’t feel like posting photos. Sometimes, I don’t post because I don’t have an appropriate photo or I don’t feel like waiting and waiting and waiting for the darned picture to download. When you think about it, it’s a silly reason not to post. I know that, visually, it’s nice to have cool photos and artwork on the blog, and it has enhanced my writing (I never used to post photos– only words), but sometimes, I just don’t have the time or the inclination. This is one of those days.
